= is the church far?; casa mia non è lontana = my house is not far (away). - Come avverbio, in frase affermativa lontano si può tradurre in vari modi: oggi andiamo lontano = we are driving a long way today; vivo lontano dalla scuola = I live a long way from the school; sentii un cane abbaiare lontano = I heard a dog barking in the distance; in frase negativa e interrogativa, si usa solo far (away) (from): non vivo lontano dalla mia ragazza = I don't live far from my girlfriend; devi andare lontano oggi? = have you got to go far today? 18 HI!
Hello! и How do you do! Можно сказать Hi there! Продолжая рассуждения о приветствиях, напомним, что How do you do! Вопрос-приветствие будет How are you doing? нужно отвечать: "I'm fine. How are you?" На юго-западе, в Техасе, например, How are you doing? -
